Olympic champion to hammer Morton records!

Morton Games is delighted to announce that the Olympic Champion and twice World Champion Camryn Rogers of Canada will compete in the hammer competition at this year's meet on Friday, July 10.

The World number one took the Olympic title in Paris in 2024 with a best throw of 76.97m. At last year's Tokyo World Championships, a massive 80.51m ensured that she retained the world title she has won in Budapest in 2023. It had been silver the previous year at the World Championships in Oregon. Rogers is also the reigning Commonwealth champion and a prolific winner in the diamond league.

The Canadian’s personal best, which is also a North American record, stands at an extraordinary 81.13m achieved at the Texas Relays, Austin, USA in April and she has broken the 80m barrier on 4 occasions.

With the Morton Stadium record standing to Ireland’s Eileen O'Keeffe at 73.21 dating back to July 2007 the fans at Morton Games next month will surely witness a new record.
