Women's metric mile for thrills & spills!

After last year's thrills and spills in the women's 1500 more of the same please for 2019! Coming down the home straight at the 2018 Morton Games it looked to the crowd that it was Elinor Purrier all the way, indeed Purrier surely thought likewise as she raised her arms in victory only to have the diminutive Emily Lipari pass on the blindside to snatch the win by a matter of inches.

Since reverting from the mile to 1500 these past two years many athletes have targeted this race as the ideal opportunity to try and grab an elusive qualifying time for a major competition. This year with the World Championships taking place in Doha in late September the window will still be open by the time the athletes take to the track in Santry. With athletes from Europe, USA and beyond along with Ireland's best this race promises to once again provide great drama and will be a race to bring the Santry crowd to their feet.
