Morton Mile Champs return!

The two most recent Morton Mile winners are confirmed for a head to head at this year's Morton mile. Last year's champion Sam Prakel (USA) who won in a time of 3.55.80 and the 2017 champion Robert Domanic (USA) who clocked a marginally faster 3.55.71 will toe the line on August 21.


This is the first time in a number of years that Morton Games has had the Morton Mile champion returning to defend the title and have both the 2018 and 2017 champions racing makes for an intriguing battle. Prakel has been in excellent form all year, on the indoor circuit he clocked a 3.50.96 mile in Boston. Outdoors recently he was 6th in the US 1500 Championships and was a 2nd place finisher at the Sir Water Miler in a time of 3.54.90. Domanic, 4th in that Sir Walter Miler, had a win on the roads in the prestigious BAA road mile in Boston in April beating Chris O’Hare (GBR) amongst others.


When both last met in the Morton Mile in 2017 it was Domanic's night as he took the plaudits with Prakel in 3rd place. Now two years later: The re Match!
